As people move in and establish themselves, we would like to develop a set of classes and exhibitions held in our “wood shed” and the outdoor spaces in the courtyard.
The classes will cover three disciplines: evening and weekend events for adults and kids; outdoor sculpture exhibitions; and available to the local community for business and leisure use.
Please call or email the Glove Factory to find out more, whether you’re interested in attending or facilitating classes or workshops, we’d like to hear from you.
My Small World's My Big Egg Day
Despite being the wettest day last Easter weekend, My Small World's friends and families all came out to play at the Glove Factory. Make Your Mark set up in one the larger studio spaces, making Easter egg collection baskets, while The Makery made feathered masks in the Project Space. Gigantic papier maché eggs were splattered with colour, while delightful Dawn snuggled down and read The Runaway Dinner illustrated by Great Western Studios artist Bruce Ingham. Wellie clad egg hunters scoured the fields for colourful hand painted eggs to trade for chocolate; returning to the café to be rewarded with scrummy Miniscoff orgainc Scoffies, and thirst quenching RDA Organic Squuishy and Squeeezys. A big thanks to My Small World for choosing the Glove Factory and kick staring fun events.
Dad's Stuff
Announcing a mutual support group for recuperating guilt ridden former weekend Dads! WANTED 7 to 10 good men to get together with their kids (3 to 10 year olds) to rekindle the desire and skills to just make stuff with our kids.
Following the aspiration and fun of the Dad's Stuff book, 4 friends Nick Kirkham (designer), Andy Burden (theatre director), Matt Frost (creative director), and Angus Oliphant (design and marketing maverick) want to get together with other like-minded Dads to muck about and try to make unnecessary stuff with their kids... WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?
We will attempt golden oldies such as: making go-carts, kites, bows and arrows, exploding rockets, modeling in clay, pond boats, gliding rubber band planes and other wonderfully pointless activities!
WHEN: 1st Saturday in July, Aug and Sept
TIME: 11am to 3pm
COST: About £10 towards bits and bobs for making stuff, less if we can find things donated.
