Wild Women Photo Exhibition by Fran McColl

‘Wild Women’ – Photographers at The Field Kitchen

Wild Women, the new photography exhibition at The Field Kitchen, explores open-water swimming – an activity close to our hearts here at Glove Factory Studios!

The show by photographer Fran McColl explores a community of the bold braving the winter waters of the UK’s lakes and rivers. All captured with a medium-format film camera.

Historically, wild swimming was believed to have healing powers and, in the last decade, there has been an enormous resurgence of interest. Alongside the sheer joy and exhilaration, open water swimming is known to benefit mental health and general wellbeing.

The exhibition runs August through to September. Pop over for a coffee and a browse!

Tennis ball factory photography exhibition by David King

Photographers at The Field Kitchen: David King

This new photo exhibition celebrating the tennis season is not quite what it seems!

The Field Kitchen is home to a show exploring the Price of Bath factory: the UK’s last remaining manufacturer of tennis balls, squash balls and racket balls.

Photographer David King captures a moment in time behind the scenes prior to the company’s move to a new factory.  J Price is a family-run business that has been making tennis balls in Britain for over 80 years spanning three generations.

A professional photographer based at Glove Factory Studios, David King is inspired by “finding beauty in often overlooked and unnoticed subjects, relying on some 30 years of design experience to create simple yet powerful images”.

The exhibition runs until the end of July and is just a small selection from a huge documentary photography archive.

Photographer David King captures a moment in time behind the scenes prior to the company’s move to a new factory. Still a family-run venture, J Price has been making tennis balls in Britain for over 80 years and spanning three generations.
