Outdoor swimming has certainly become popular over the last year with a huge interest in the launch of the 2021/22 Glove Dippers season. Alongside familiar faces from previous years, we’re excited to have welcomed many new members this year.

If you’re an experienced wild swimmer looking for new and safe swim spots, head over to Glove Dippers website for membership details. You’ll join a friendly and supportive community and enjoy the gentle waters and peaceful surroundings of a 100m lake situated in the private field behind Glove Factory Studios.

Membership offers year-round swimming at the lake, with an annual membership of £100 and for Holt residents, £80. Members sign in using a simple smartphone app before each swim session and sign out afterwards. All swimmers must be accompanied by a spotter or a fellow Glove Dipper and there are WhatsApp and Facebook groups set up to help find swim buddies.

Club members can be found outdoor swimming at several locations around Wiltshire and Somerset, but the Glove Dippers lake is a favourite swim spot for many, particularly when local rivers are flooded and in the winter months. The lake water is tested regularly and consistently rated as ‘excellent’.

With a new changing hut and outside shower installed this season, and the cafe reopening this summer for post-swim nosh-ups, we’re predicting a truly splashing year ahead for Glove Dippers.
