Rooster Talks: Why Inaccessibility is Bad for Business, with Lucy Collins from Web Usability

Friday 4th July

This Rooster Talk is for anyone who does anything online.

Whether you’re a business owner, content creator, or website developer, this talk is for you!

Lucy Collins explores what is it like to navigate the online world when you have a disability and answers the question “why should you care?”.

It is estimated that 95% of websites contain accessibility issues*.

These digital barriers can range from minor irritation to major obstacles. At best, they cause frustration; at worst, they prevent disabled and neurodivergent people from using essential online services.

Accessible online experiences are not a ‘nice to have’- they are a basic human right. And when we design with accessibility in mind, we make the online world better for everyone.

Join Lucy and the Web Usability team in The Club Room as we shine a light on the barriers people with disabilities and neurodivergent people face online and how we can all help break these barriers down. Lucy will share her knowledge and experience of creating accessibility online experiences, along with practical tips and techniques on the changes you can make and how thinking in an accessible-first way will win you customers and boost your revenue.

We will be preparing a delicious breakfast and you can choose your menu selection when you book your ticket.

We look forward to seeing you there.
