Join us in the Club Room with Ben Veal from Second Mountain Comms, talking about Purpose-Driven Life, Working Towards a Brighter Future.

What ‘mountain’ are you climbing right now? Are you living, and working, with purpose?

Following a sell-out Rooster Talk earlier this year, Glove Factory Studios’ member Ben Veal from Second Mountain Comms returns to share his personal story of launching a business during unsettling times, aiming to give back to society, carving out a niche in a crowded market, and life lessons learnt travelling towards a brighter future.

For Ben, as for many of us, it’s been quite the journey so far – but it’s not all been uphill. Unexpected redundancy at the height of the first lockdown sent Ben spiralling downwards. Feelings of anxiety, imposter syndrome and depression all led to big questions and serious consideration as to whether the time had come to take a new career direction.

Having climbed the ‘first mountain’ of his life and dropped into a valley, Ben paused, reflected and then began the long and winding journey up the ‘second mountain’ – founding a business that would put purpose before profit and place family first.

Ben Veal is the founder of Second Mountain Comms, an award-winning independent consultancy based at Glove Factory Studios that specialises in helping purpose-driven companies and charities reach new heights. Three years since launching, Ben has built up a client base of over 20 national and international clients and was named the UK’s top independent PR practitioner by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations this year. He is also the host of ‘Good Journeys with Second Mountain’, a popular podcast series that shines the spotlight on inspiring people and their inspired stories.
